I NEED SOME HELP WITA A LOADER PROBLEM. WHENEVER I MOVE THE LOADER CONTROL TO FLOAT THE VALVE LOCKS UP AND CANT BE MOVED. THE BUCKET CURL WORKS FINE BUT THE LIFT IS STUCK. THE PIN THAT CONTROLS THE LIFT IS STUCK IN THE FLOAT POSITION. IS THERE AN EASY FIX?

Just curious how the lock up is cleared. The problem could be in the linkage or the valve. I'm assuming that when the lift is stuck, the bucket floats along the ground, and the problem is not being able to get the valve to release. A linkage problem would be easier to fix but I don't have a joystick so I can't say what to do. I'd just invent something and try it out.

The problem is more likely in the float portion of the lift control valve section. The link below is generally what you'd be looking at. The parts in question are the sub-assembly that contains part #12. I have a suspicion that the spools aren't drawn quite accurately. The lift spool assembly probably can be removed from the valve body without removing the body from the tractor but maybe not.

If I did it, I'd want to have a parts diagram for the particular valve. The job shouldn't be too bad. Even if I got in trouble trying it, it likely wouldn't be too bad of a basket case to take to a dealer.

Pat often th evalves will stick in that position from lack of use. Not always, but sometimes. The reason is you might have had a little condensation and developed some rust. If you feel confident enough take it apart and you should have no trouble with cleaning that area up any it should be fine. ....
